"PHILA HISTORY" JBM AT ITS FINEST...............

The Black Mafia, was a Philadelphia-based organized crime syndicate whose small beginnings started from holding up crap games and dealing in the illegal drug business, was formed in September 1968 by Samuel Christian, who later adopted the name Suleiman Bey under the Nation of Islam, and was at its height of operation until about 1975. Other founding members included Ronald Harvey, Richard "Pork Chops" James, Donald "Donnie" Day, Robert "Bop Daddy" Fairbanks, Walter Hudgins, among several others who spent the past two years holding up crap games and extorting drug dealers, numbers men as well as illegitimate businessmen.
They gained power in local neighborhoods by intimidating people to prevent anyone from reporting the group's activities to the police. Because of this, police had incredible difficulty taking any action on the gang or any of its members for years after their conception. Over the course of their control, the mafia was responsible for over 40 murders and countless other crimes.

News: Beanie Sigel, Freeway & Gillie Da Kid Show Brotherly Love, Plan Free Concert In Philly

Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Gillie Da Kid and more have linked with Nike to provide fans with an upcoming "Brotherly Love Concert" in Philadelphia next week.
Presented by Nike's All Conditions Gear (ACG) shoe brand, the Philly-bred emcees will unite to show local fans their commitment to working together despite prior rap beefs in the past.
"ACG's are the official hood boots and I support what they do in the community," Sigel said in a statement. "I had an idea to put everyone together in one building and on one stage to start a movement here in Philly and promote unity."
The free event will also showcase Philly stars like Reed Dollas, Joey Jahad and E-Ness as Beans uses the concert to shed light on his hometown's talent.
"I want to concentrate on the artist now, as I push my own label here in Philly," he added. "I want State Property Records to be the vehicle to put them on, so they don't have to go to New York."
The "Brotherly Love Concert" is scheduled to take place Thursday, December 11 at 5 p.m. in Philadelphia's Filmore venue.

Chris Brown & Rihanna Sued For A Milli Over Alleged Paparazzi Beatdown

R&B superstars Chris Brown and Rihanna have been sued for $1 million by a photographer claiming he was beaten up and robbed by the couple's bodyguards in Florida last May.
According to the St. Petersburg Times, tabloid cameraman Luis Santana, Jr. was reportedly taking photos of the duo as Brown celebrated his 19th birthday at St. Petersburg's Vintage Ultra Lounge venue. Upon being discovered, Santana claims the singer and bodyguards attacked him.
"Brown, emerged from a black limousine with [bodyguards] and chased Santana through said parking lot," the lawsuit reads. "[The bodyguard] then knocked Santana to the ground and repeatedly kicked him."

Along with compensation from the battery injuries attained from the incident and the false imprisonment, Santana is also looking for reimbursements on his stolen $3,000 camera.
"[The bodyguards], acting within the course and scope of their employment with defendants, Rihanna and Brown, intentionally seized the camera equipment owned and operated by Santana then in his possession, with the intention of depriving Santana the right to his property or the benefit of the camera, camera equipment and photographs contained within the camera."
Despite the camera's small worth, Santana's million dollar lawsuit includes an unspecified and continuing loss of income since the attack.

"As a direct, proximate and foreseeable result of the subject atttack, Santana suffered the loss and/or destruction of valuable personal property, the loss of income, and the loss of the ability to earn money," it reads. "These losses are either permanent or continuing and Santana will suffer the losses in the future."

A rep for Brown and Rihanna was unavailable at press time.
As of now, no court date or settlement has been announced.

“I’m waking up in a room that was previously Mike Tyson’s bedroom, a fighter who earned over US$500 million in his actual career, and when I purchased his house from him he was in bankruptcy,” he said. “If that’s not a strong enough reminder for you, I don’t know what’s going to remind you to be aware of where you are financially and make conscious decisions.”
“Well yeah, I lost a couple million dollars already, you see what I’m saying? I sit with my investors and business managers and accountants looking at the numbers and I’m like, ‘Yo, the values of stocks in different areas that I invested in are decreasing!’ So I take the loss like everybody else.”

Kanye Sells 444k, While, “Theater Of The Mind,” Sells 212k

Of course Kanye’s sales were going to take a drop from the 957k he did with, “Graduation.” The economy, no battle wit 50 and an entirely different style had less people buying his album this time around. Ludacris dropped one of the best Rap albums of the year with, “Theater of The Mind,” and sold a good 212k during the first week of sales. Beyonce is still going strong with 254k sold.

Weezy album did a milli when gas was 5 bucks... I love Kanye no homo but ol boy should have waited or drop a double disc as attended...Take it from Jay-z, a cat who is waiting until the recession is slightly over not to mention all the mills he have lost investing in livenation stocks... its just a bad time to do anything...

BROOKLYN'S FINEST MAGAZINE COVER

The story of the late great rapper, Christopher Wallace, is retold through the eyes of director George Tillman as he recounts to The Source how he managed to bring the legendary rapper’s life to the big screen. Voletta Wallace, Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts (former managers), Lil’ Cease and many of Wallace’s closest confidants and business partners give recollections of their experiences during the filming of the movie. Voletta Wallace, mother of Notorious B.I.G. states in the article, “Maybe I’ll cry my heart out; maybe I’ll just laugh myself silly. I really don’t know what I’m going to do after I see the film.”

Kanye West Gives His Thoughts On Religion

When I listened back to the New Zealand conference I was like whoa this is pretty harsh. Sometimes I speak with no filter. I did not mean to be so harsh on the subject of Christianity being that I was a well known Christian. When I was at my Mom’s funeral a fucking stranger came up to me and said, “I hope you’ve accepted Jesus as your saviour so you can see your Mother again!” My entire life, being an african american, Christianity was forced down my throat. Since I was a child, I would ask questions like, “so are little babies that can’t speak yet going to hell also?” I one thousand percent believe in God, I believe in Karma, I believe in being a good person. I’m not trying to tell people what they should believe or not believe. To each is his own. I was in situations where someone constantly used Jesus to show me how baaaad a person I was or how not perfect or not Christ like I was. When I say I don’t want to be Christ like I’m saying I’m fine with not being perfect. I’m fine with being a human being. I’m happy with just that.

TWO CATS FROM QUEENS "TAKING SHOTS AT EACH OTHER"

Where I'm from if you were from the same hood, everyone was like brothers and sisters but I see things have change in the past years... Read full story below

Nas threw a shot on “Queens Get the Money,” and you didn’t respond. You getting all Gandhi on us?
50 Cent: Man, Nas is cold as ice. Nas is the block of ice that sunk the Titanic… I didn’t even hear his record. I didn’t even hear what you talking about… I really don’t want to talk about Nas. I think he’s at one of those points to where his career’s finished, to be honest. He’s had some great moments and made good music in the past, but he no longer has the interest of the general public or myself.
50 Cent:The public will tell me that Curtis is a failure. And I sold 700,000 copies the first week. So what do I gotta do? Reach a million, at a minimum?!
That’s the bar you set. You’re the SoundScan Killer, remember?
50 Cent: Right, but if we’re gonna call that a failure, then somebody identify what a win is for me. All I need to know is what it is, and then I’ll go ’head and go. Musically, from my perspective, Curtis was exactly what I aimed for it to be. Or I wouldn’t have presented it to the public. I listen to my music before I put it out. I’m listening to it, and I’m hearing it, and I’m like, Yeah, this is what I wanna do now.

WORLD NEWS: It's official: U.S. is in recession

WASHINGTON - The economy fell into recession late last year, according to a panel of economists that is responsible for determining the dates of business cycles.
Monday's declaration by the panel of the National Bureau of Economic Research confirms what many private economists, lawmakers and members of the general public already have assumed and puts an official date on it: A U.S. recession began in December 2007.
That was the same month employment peaked, and the economy began shrinking in a downturn that has been exacerbated by the financial crisis that took hold of markets beginning in September.

Obama Reveals National Security Team, Including Clinton and Gates

President-elect Barack Obama unveiled his national-security team this morning. He moved more slowly on his intelligence picks in an attempt to find experienced officials who aren't associated with the Bush administration's controversial interrogation policies.

On World AIDS Day, Doctor Says More Pediatrics AIDS Drugs Needed

HIV, the AIDS virus, not only infects adults, but also affects many children. Millions have become orphans, and many are infected at birth.
One of the organizations dealing with pediatric AIDS is the Elizabeth Glaser Foundation. Dr. Denis Tindyebwa is the foundation's regional director of pediatric care and treatment. From Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, he spoke to VOA English to Africa reporter Joe De Capua.
"There are more than two million children living with HIV/AIDS globally and over 90 percent of those children live in Africa and specifically sub-Saharan Africa. Those children really are not getting the treatment that they should be getting. Only about 20 percent of the children are getting the life saving anti-retroviral drugs. But the issue is that these children in actual fact should not be getting HIV in the first place. And yet, every day, approximately 1,000 children become newly infected with HIV, the majority of them through mother-to-child transmission, and the majority of them, over 90 percent of them, in Africa," he says.
Dr. Tindyebwa says the drugs to prevent mother-to-child transmission of the AIDS virus are available, but are still not reaching many pregnant women who need them. Weaknesses in the health system are the first problem. "The mothers live far away from the health facilities. And the second reason is that there are not an adequate number of health workers to provide these services to the mothers," he says.
For those children born with HIV because their mothers did not receive the preventive medication, he says, "There are efforts to provide treatment to them. There are drugs that are available, although not as well as they should be. Unfortunately, many drugs are…usually tested in adults and then they are given to children and some of them might not be good for children. But even the ones that are good for children are not readily available to Africa. But even if they are readily available, they would not have the clean water to mix the suspensions. We do not have refrigerators to keep the solutions (cool)."
He says that what's need are simple to use tablets that combine several medications in one pill.

I have no comment on this topic but go out and get tested!!!!
